Car waxing

vahatamineCar waxing is the easiest way to protect the car paint and body.

One of the most basic ways to protect the lacquer paint of the car is applying of car wax the selection of which is really wide. Car wax makes the appearance of the car brighter and is also a unique way to protect the lacquer paint of the car body.

The protective wax functions simply and efficiently. Waxing adds hydrophobic properties to the car body, preventing in such a way chemically active substances penetrating on the lacquer and paint and protecting the painted surface against damages caused by abrasive particles.

There are many different wax types available on the market but for those to whom the resistance time is important, it is better to pay attention to nano coatings and high-technological coatings protecting against scratches. In case the paintwork of the car has lost its initial gloss and is covered with the so-called spiderwebs and scratches, we recommend polishing.

Did you know: that all car manufacturers recommend taking care of the car body and as proof of it additional information can be obtained in all user manuals that are provided with the car.

Quick wax treatment

Quick wax treatment that is done after car wash, is a way to protect the paintwork of the car. The protective layer is an efficient way to protect the car body against aggressive impact of the environment and it protects the paintwork of the car from a direct contact with many harmful materials that can be often found on our roads. These are plant resins, bitumen, acid rain and salt compounds so generously used by the road service companies during the winter period.

The protective wax functions simply and efficiently. Applying of the wax on the car body gives the painted surfaces hydrophobic properties, penetrates into micro-cracks of the paintwork, prevents penetration of active chemical compounds in the lacquer and paint layer and prevents abrasive particles from damaging the paint layer. The layer of the quick wax can only be detected during car wash (round water droplets fall down along the washed surfaces), in rainy weather and thanks to the high gloss of the lacquer, if compared to the surface before waxing. The wax layer can also be detected when touching the surface by hand.

Tips: Quick wax should be applied in a shaded place.

Frequently Asked Questions of waxing:

How long does waxing last?
All depends on such factors as: wax type, weather conditions, mileage, frequency of car wash, parking conditions, smoothness of the surface before waxing. In case of new or freshly polished cars, hard wax will stay on the body max 6 months, the properties of liquid waxes last for 1-3 months.

When is the best time for waxing the car body?
If to think about wax as a way to protect the car body, the best time is autumn-winter, since at that time the road environment is the most aggressive, facilitating formation of rust, etc. Waxing in spring has more visual advantages, since it is nice to look at a glossy car, especially when it stays clean for a longer period.

What is the difference between car waxing and nano coating?
The main difference is the resistance of one or another coating. Liquid wax will last 1-3 months, carnauba-based solid wax will last approximately 6 months and nano coating up to one year. Chemical industry is in constant development and already now totally new coatings are available on the market that last up to 5 years. The rule is that the cheaper is the wax the shorter it will last. All given resistance times are approximate and depend greatly on the operation conditions of the car and mileage. For instance in case the annual mileage of the car is 600,000 km in road conditions, all resistance times should be decreased to half.
